Character: Mammon of Greed
Fandom: Umineko no Naku Koro ni
Personality:
Since Mammon is one of the Sisters of Purgatory, she represents the deadly sin of greed. Whatever it is in life, she feels like she needs to horde it and want it all for herself. She’s always curious about new surroundings, so she feels like she needs to explore it and find out all about these new discoveries for herself. This kind of greedy attitude applies to knowledge as well, she adores reading and learning about obscure information that no one else would know about. She adores boasting about that knowledge, but she would never share such bits of information to anyone, having that kind of information all to herself is what she’s all about. Mammon also likes the idea of having a powerful master to serve under, the more powerful they become, the more it satisfies her. Hence why she would always push her previous master, Ange, to try and become stronger, saying that having a powerful title like the witch of resurrection would be something she would be very proud to serve under. Her motto in life is to ‘monopolize through greed’ meaning that she would like to conquer all aspects in life. She’s also likely to please a person over anyone else, due to the fact that she would give them all of her attention, but also demand such attention in return.
Mammon is mostly a laid back individual, who speaks politely when in the presence of someone obviously more powerful than her, like when speaking in front of Beatrice. She also talks in that refined sort of manner when she’s obviously angry at someone. She won’t come outright and say that’s bothering her but it becomes blatantly obvious when her speech pattern moves from that of a regular girl, playing around and giggling with her friends, to more quiet and big words strewn about. Since she is furniture, she of course will restrain herself from acting like an immature girl, but when she’s around someone who doesn’t mind that kind of attitude as much, she’ll let loose and forget to restrain herself. Mammon likes to tease others a lot, this was made evident when Ange was unable to summon the rest of the sisters, and Mammon made a remark about how she’s unreliable if she’s unable to do it. She was scolded for talking to her master that way, but she couldn’t help it- that greed had rose up and she wanted her master to be able to summon everyone, but Mammon said it in a joking manner more or less.
When Mammon is around her sisters, her personality changes completely. She tends to act like the youngest sisters, Asmodeus and Beelzebub, when they’re all together. She’s a bit more reserved than them though, but she will still jump around with them and have fun giggling with the rest. Just like the rest of them, she adores Sakutaro, Maria’s furniture. She completely stops acting polite around the little lion, and would hold him, and start squealing out loud about how cute he is. All in all, Mammon is often able to hold herself back, but she’s unable to do so when she’s confronted with something or someone that she finds ridiculously cute.
Mammon is actually smarter than she lets on, and will often times talk to Ange about issues she’s having and offer helpful advice. She’s told her how to get over certain aspects of life time and time again, her words of helpful encouragement aiding to her master in times of need. When Ange was trying to explain the rules about the school she was at, Mammon continued to talk about how it was like a prison, and it was idiotic for a school to be acting this way. She was doing this kind of thing to cheer her master up, since she could tell that Ange was saddened whenever she talked about the school and the people around her who would treat her horribly. After such a conversation, Mammon stayed up talking with Ange all night, simply content with the fact that she could have Ange all to herself and her words would make her master feel better. As such, Mammon can be very protective over people she likes. Since she adores her master, she hates it when girls would come and tease her. Mammon wouldn’t be able to actually do anything, but she would be on the sidelines yelling at these girls to stay away from Ange. If she grows to like someone, she’ll do whatever she can to make them satisfied in whatever way possible.
History: http://umineko.wikia.com/wiki/Mammon
Timeline: End of EP4, right after Ange deals with Kasumi on Rokkenjima.
Abilities: Mammon is one of the Seven Sister of Purgatory, and as such she has certain demonic abilities, however she can’t attack unless her master would be willing to kill with their bare hands as well. In any case, she has the ability to conjure up a purple looking lotus blade on her arm, which acts as a sword of sorts. When Mammon isn’t in her human form, she’s able to transform into a stake- and pierce someone after zipping around the room. Another small ability to note, Mammon is able to float around instead of merely walking.
Inventory: Nothing. Pockets are for the humans to worry about.

Sample writing:
Mammon glanced up at a small collection of books that Ange had acquired, and after staring for a few more moments she reached up and ran her finger along the sides of the novels. This was some pretty complex stuff, and she didn’t think that Ange was the type of person who would honestly read this material and find it interesting. Mammon however, adored this kind of literature. She loved anything that was obscure like this, where it was rare to find another person who knew knowledge like this. Mammon briefly smiled to herself, and then grabbed at one of the books and brought it down to eyelevel. She traced her finger over the letters on the front, excitement building as she thought about how she would be able to read this and be the only one to know about it. She was greedy, that was her main trait- and when it came to situations like this that greed became painfully evident.
“…Should I actually burn it this time though? Ange-sama might get mad,” after she read something, she usually tried to destroy it. No one else should have to look upon it, taking in the knowledge contained within the book and then boasting about it later to her sisters brought her such delight. She nodded to herself and then walked over to the bed, sitting down on that particular piece of furniture and opening the book.
Every so often, Mammon would simply smile to herself, accompanied by a small laugh. She couldn’t help but think how great it will be if Ange hadn’t finished these books and afterwards she would go to her and tell her all about it. Well… Mammon would brag about how she knew more knowledge than her master, but she wouldn’t come right out and tell her about it. What would the point of that be? Learning all of this, only to tell another? No, that was unacceptable. All this knowledge was hers, she had to have it all. Mammon sighed and then flopped back onto Ange’s bed. She had put down the book for the time being, and was now staring up at the roof.
“Fufu-...I wonder what Ange-sama will say. Will she praise me for knowing so much? I hope so,” she also craved attention from her master. She liked it when all the seven stakes were gathered, having them all there for her to play around with, but she also liked it when she was the only one to soak up her master’s presence. Mammon continued to smile to herself before she picked up the book again, and continued to read.
